Outback Town

Farina forgotten outback town

One of my favourite towns in the outback is Farina  North of Port Augusta near the Flinders Ranges.
On the edge of the desert it was a wheat growing community which came and went.

I hav been visiting this town for 20 years and seen it at its worst but in recent times the friends of Farina are slowly rebuilding this town. Great camping area there by the way.

I have an other blog spot you might like to visit.

Flinders Ranges vista

How I love the flinders Ranges

After a walk of over an hour you climb the Briddle Gap and discover this beautiful vista. Such a great experience. This is one of the major benefits of being an "Australian Landscape Photographer" the great things you can see.

If you wish to see more images of the Australian Outback or wish to purchase an image on canvas please fee free to go to my website.

Miners Hut Burra South Australia

100 year old miners hut in Burra South Australia

One thing about visiting old towns is you have to get on you feet and walk around the town.
As an Australian landscape photographer there is nothing better that a walk around a town just to explore and see what you can photograph.

Australian Snow back country

You Have to get out there to take the photos

When the weather  is bad you have to go out side and search for those photos, because when the weather changes and the cloud drops away you can see something wonderful.

Sure it is cold and windy but occasionally you will discover something wonderful.
The near frozen lake at the back of Falls Creek.

Can you see the old hut?

Australian Huts in snow

Snow covered Huts  in Australia

Hi everyone, like most of you throughout the world you might not realise that Australia has snow falls and a seasonal alpine area. This makes for some beautiful photo opportunities.

Yesterday I went cross country skiing 22km to take these pictures. I hope you enjoy them.

Wallace's hut,  Cattleman's Hut 11km of skiing from the nearest town. This hut is over 100 years old.
The Inside of the hut taken with a six second exposure, and yes I had to carry the tripod and all of the camera gear  the 11km out to the hut and return, making 22km.

Lots of hard work and fun
